Maltese Oxen

The Maltese oxen is yet another ancient cattle-breed that almost went extinct. They are very large-sized animals, once mainly used for ox-cart-pulling, with bulls having the characteristic aurochs shoulder hump more evident than in any other breed today. A project started to 're-breed' the Maltese ox, and now they have a breeding group of the fifth generation.
